چکیده

It is shown that conventional computers can be exponentiallx faster than planar Hopfield networks: although there are planar Hopfield networks that take exponential time to converge, a stable state of an arbitrary planar Hopfield network can be found by a conventional computer in polynomial time. The theory of 'P.cS-completeness gives strong evidence that such a separation is unlikely for nonplanar Hopfield networks, and it is demonstrated that this is also the case for several restricted classes of nonplanar Hopfield networks, including those who interconnection graphs are the class of bipartite graphs, graphs of degree 3, the dual of the knight's graph, the 8-neighbor mesh, the hypercube , the butterfly, the cube-connected cycles, and the shuffle-exchange graph.

Economic Dispatch with Emission and Transmission Constraints by Augmented Lagrange Hopfield Network

This paper proposes an augmented Lagrange Hopfield network (ALHN) for solving economic dispatch (ED) problem with ramp rate, emission and transmission constraints. The proposed ALHN method is the continuous Hopfield neural network with its energy function based on augmented Lagrangian function. In ALHN, the energy function is augmented by Hopfield terms from Hopfield neural network and penalty ...

A neural-network-like quantum information processing system

The Hopfield neural networks and the holographic neural networks are models which were successfully simulated on conventional computers. Starting with these models, an analogous fundamental quantum information processing system is developed in this article. Neuro-quantum interaction can regulate the ”collapse”-readout of quantum computation results. This paper is a comprehensive introduction in...

Warm start by Hopfield neural networks for interior point methods

Hopfield neural networks and interior point methods are used in an integrated way to solve linear optimization problems. The Hopfield network gives warm start for the primal–dual interior point methods, which can be way ahead in the path to optimality. The approaches were applied to a set of real world linear programming problems. The integrated approaches provide promising results, indicating ...

A neuronal basis for the fan effect

The fan effect says that “activation” spreading from a concept is divided among the concepts it spreads to. Because this activation is not a physical entity, but an abstraction of unknown lower-level processes, the spreadingactivation model has predictive but not explanatory power. We provide one explanation of the fan effect by showing that distributed neuronal memory networks (specifically, H...

Non-monotonic Hopfield Networks

We investigate the retrieval phase diagrams of an asynchronous fully-connected attractor network with non-monotonic transfer function by means of a mean-field approximation. We find for the noiseless zero-temperature case that this non-monotonic Hopfield network can store more patterns than a network with monotonic transfer function investigated by Amit et al. Properties of retrieval phase diag...
